Alessandro Calamai
Graduated from the Conservatory "L. Cherubini" in Florence and continued his studies with the soprano E. Schwarzkopf, the baritone R. Capecchi. He has participated with distinction in various competitions and performed in more than 230 concerts during his career. His vast repertory includes: Marcello and Schaunard from La Boheme, Sharpless from Madam Butterfly, Paolo Albiani from Simon Boccanegra, Belcore from L'Elisir d' Amore and Dottor Malatesta from Don Pasquale. He has also participated in the Philips' recordings of La Traviata directed by Z. Mehta, and Tosca directed by S. Osawa.

 

 

Elisabetta Lombardi
Graduated cum laude from Turin's Conservatory "G. Verdi". She made her debut in Turin's Regio Theatre's production of "Hansel and Gretel" as Hansel. She has since appeared in numerous productions in various important theatres. She is intensely involved in the field of chamber music and oratorio in Italy, Germany, Austria and the USA. She has performed Mozart's "Requiem" on tour with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento. She has recorded for RAI, the BBC, and Radio Germany in Berlin. She has also recorded 2 CD's of liturgical music for the Pergolesi Foundation in Jesi. She is currently teaching at the Pergolesi Institute in Ancona.

 

 

Thomas Busch
Studied organ and choral direction at the "R. Schumann-Hochschule" in Dusseldorf, and voice with Edmund Illerhaus at the "Folkwang-Hochschule" in Essen. He has further perfected his technique by studying with K. Equiluz, E. Battaglia, A. Schmidt and U. Baestlein. He has sung in opera theatres in both Germany and Italy, but his principal interest is in chamber music and oratorio. He has performed classic oratorio by Bach, Mendelssohn and Brahms as well as contemporary works. He has recorded a CD for the Pergolesi Foundation in Jesi of Pergolesi's "Messa Romana." He currently teaches vocal music at the Conservatory "di Monopoli", is director of the Coro Polifonico "Colombati" of Pergola and is voice coach for the Polifonico "Antonelli" in Matelica.


 

Lee Bisset
Graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she studied with Alan Watt. She continued her studies in Italy with Romolo Castiglioni, and a course with Renata Scotto. Her operatic repertoire is mostly Italian, favouring such roles as Aida, Santuzza and Donna Anna, while her concert repertoire ranges from Beethoven and Strauss to Ravel and Tchaikowsky. Besides her numerous concert appearances, she has broadcast performances with the BBC and recorded a CD of songs by John Rose.

 

 

Pietro Veneri
Completed his studies in composition and conducting under the direction of maestros Camillo Togni and Daniele Gatti. He has since been involved in the direction of the principal opera companies and theatres in Italy working with the noted musical talents of Muti, Chailly, Thielemann, Abbado, and Kuhn. He has also been the assistant to maestro Frubeck de Burgos. His 1987 debut as conductor has led to the direction of prestigious institutions such as the Tokyo Philharmonic, the Hadyn Bolzano and the Yamagata Symphony. He has recorded and appeared in various radio and television transmissions in Italy and abroad. He is a jury member for international opera competitions and holds a professorship at the Conservatory "A. Boito" in Parma.


 

Carlo Pari
Completed his studies cum laude at the Conservatory "G. Rossini" in Pesaro with degrees in composition and piano, studyng with pianist Lorenzo Bavai. Post-graduate study was completed at the Conservatory "A. Boito" in Parma. He also studied composition with E. Morricone at the Fiesole Academy. He has since pursued a career as a concert pianist performing in Italy and abroad. An eclectic musician, he composes and performs all genres of music ranging from Baroque to the contemporary experimental, making him one of the most requested performers in Europe. He was, last year, the official pianist for the "Summer Courses in Opera" and is currently teaching piano, harmony and music history.


 

Andrea Polzoni
After graduating from the Conservatory " G. Rossini" in Pesaro he went on to study, with the aid of several CEE scholarships , at the Toscolano European Center finishing with a degree in composition and arrangement for film soundtracks. He has attended post-graduate courses at various prestigious Italian schools including a course in composition and arrangement for cinema and TV conducted by E. Morricone. He has actively pursued a career as a concert pianist while recording and composing all genres of music for Roland Europe, Jaka Book, CNR, RAI and UNICEF. He has founded his own record label (www.soundreflections.com) and is involved in production and recording of classical music on CD.


 

Mauro Ferrante
Completed his studies in composition and organ at the Conservatory "A. Boito" in Parma. He has performed in inaugural concerts in connection with the restoration of several historic organs in Italy and has participated in organ exhibitions as a soloist and in ensemble. He also collaborates with the Philharmonic Orchestra in Marche and the Chamber Orchestra in Cesena. As honorary inspector for the Italian Culture Ministry, he has dedicated himself to the study and preservation of historic organs. A published author and composer, he regularly holds courses and seminars in musical analysis. He currently teaches composition at the Conservatory "G. Rossini" in Pesaro.
